Around the holidays clients often visit salons for fresh new looks or to have a beauty overhaul the day of a big event. Your salon chairs will probably be filled with clients hoping your stylists can help them rock the latest holiday beauty trends for their night out. Suggest some of these ideas for easy and festive holiday looks.
Sleek bun: A smooth, sleek bun is appropriate for any event, from casual to formal. Apply hair gel and create a sharp, straight part then pull hair straight back to the nape of the neck and wrap in a bun. If you want to get really festive add a sparkly headband.
Full, shiny waves: For a glammed up look, full brushed out waves are right on trend. Use a medium barrel curling iron to curl hair and spray hair with a smoothing hair spray. Brush out the curls and spritz on shine spray (don't spray on the roots to avoid having hair look greasy.) Be sure to use an anti-frizz serum if your hair isn't naturally smooth.
Top knot: Top knots can be dressed up or casual and are great for second day hair. Pile hair on top in a smooth coil with gel or rough it up by teasing for a casual and more playful look.
Makeup
Smoldering black eyeliner: Rimming the entire eye with black liner really makes them pop. Use a felt tip liner to amp up the drama and finish with mascara. Keep the rest of the face neutral to avoid looking overdone.
Red lips: Always on trend and scream holiday fun. Be sure to smooth the lips with a scrub to ensure there are no flakes. Use a pencil first to hold onto the color and use a long-wearing and moisturizing shade that won't feather or wipe off.
Copper eyes: Copper eye shadow is on trend and a surprising look for winter. Copper brightens all eye colors and can be layered for an intense smoky look. Pair with black eyeliner and plenty of mascara.
Nude lips: For all of these heavy eye makeup looks, nude lipstick is the perfect balance. Go for a shade darker than your natural lip color with a touch of shine to avoid looking washed out.
Your clients are sure to shine at their holiday parties this season if you practice these hair and makeup looks. From understated elegance to full on glam, there is a look that is right for everyone. Also, with some modifications, these looks can work for just about anyone.
